Shabbat has kept our nation strong for thousands of years.
Enhance your life as you experience the benefits.
We face blood libels and antisemitism.
Hostages are in grave danger.
Soldiers are giving up their lives.
Hundreds of thousands evacuated from their homes.
Terrorists are regularly attacking.
Farmers lost their livelihood.
Children are traumatized.
Wounded fill the hospital.
How do we remove the darkness?
We stand strong.
We stand United.
And we return to Shabbat, which has protected us for thousands of years.
We keep Shabbat as a nation once more!
Keeping Shabbat in its entirety is our goal, and as much as you can observe brings tremendous merit. Like anything new you begin, set goals for yourself. Where can you begin to get yourself started? What information, support, and planning do you need to make Shabbat part of your life? We have videos, mentors, and coaches available to walk you through each step.
There are several main actions to remember : avoid driving, avoid cooking, and avoid using technology and appliances (lights, phones, computers, etc).
When you’re ready, begin to integrate more areas of Shabbat observance into your life. Be sure to watch the videos on our Shabbat site to walk through each step of Shabbat!
Any time we learn something new, it feels foreign and therefore uncomfortable. Ask yourself- can I begin the process by keeping Shabbat for an hour? Or can I choose one thing to observe this week, like leaving my phone off for 25 hours? Once we get going and show ourselves we can do it, it’s easier to integrate more aspects of Shabbat and not only enhance our own lives, but bring blessing and protection to our nation.
We’ve sifted and searched and brought you all of the best Shabbat videos and resources on our website, myshabbat.org
Together we’ll walk through the entire process, start to finish, of how and why to keep Shabbat.
Additionally, you can sign up for a study partner or Shabbat coach on our site
The Torah teaches us that whoever protects Shabbat, Shabbat will protect him. We have countless stories of Jews who were saved from calamity, saw tremendous business growth, and experienced miracles by keeping Shabbat. (Check out myShabbat.org for examples!)
Shabbat is the day when we as a Jewish nation reaffirm our belief in G-d. By refraining from working, creating, and doing, and by being present and trusting, we remind ourselves that G-d is truly in control. All of our weekday efforts are blessed by our ability to step back and trust in G-d on Shabbat. Our steadfast trust and ability to assert our belief in G-d as the true source of our success and to let go of driving results brings tremendous protection to the world.
